ShellBase Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ShellBase ("ShellBase," "we," "us," or "our"), including any websites, applications, APIs, or services provided by ShellBase (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

ShellBase is a licensed software utility that allows users to store, organize, and manage code snippets and related technical content for personal or professional use.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

  • You must be legally permitted to use software services in your jurisdiction.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Account sharing is strictly prohibited. Each account is licensed for use by a single individual unless explicitly authorized in writing by ShellBase.

3. License and Authorized Use

  • ShellBase is licensed, not sold.
  • Subject to compliance with these Terms, ShellBase grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service.
  • Use of ShellBase without a valid license is strictly prohibited.
  • If your license expires, lapses, is terminated, or is revoked, your access to the Service may be suspended or permanently terminated without notice.

4. Prohibited Uses

You agree that you will not use ShellBase to store, upload, share, or distribute:

Malicious code, including but not limited to:

  • Malware, viruses, worms, trojans, spyware, ransomware, or exploit code
  • Code designed to bypass security, perform unauthorized access, or disrupt systems

Copyrighted or proprietary code that you do not have the legal right to store or use, including:

  • Source code copied from paid, licensed, or proprietary software
  • Code obtained through leaks, breaches, or unauthorized access

Stolen or reverse-engineered components of:

  • ShellBase itself
  • Any third-party software, service, or application

Content that:

  • Violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringes intellectual property rights
  • Is deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading
  • Is used to facilitate hacking, cybercrime, or abuse of systems

ShellBase reserves the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Intellectual Property

  • ShellBase and all related software, branding, design, and functionality are the exclusive property of ShellBase.
  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, or otherwise exploit any part of the Service without prior written permission.
  • Theft, extraction, or reuse of any component of the ShellBase application is strictly prohibited.

6. User Content

  • You retain ownership of code and content you legally upload to ShellBase.
  • By uploading content, you grant ShellBase a limited license to host, store, and process that content solely for providing the Service.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring that your content complies with these Terms and applicable laws.

7. Enforcement and Termination

ShellBase may, at its sole discretion and without prior notice:

  • Suspend or terminate your account
  • Revoke your license
  • Remove or restrict access to stored content

This may occur if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Your license expires or is revoked
  • You engage in abuse, misuse, or illegal activity

8. Availability and Modifications

9. Disclaimers

  • ShellBase makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of stored code.
  • You are responsible for reviewing and testing any code before use.
  • ShellBase is not responsible for data loss, security issues, or damages resulting from your use of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShellBase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
